How to Join Army Cadet College|Eligibility
The Army Cadet College is a reputed institute aimed at training and serving Indian Defense Forces personnel in officers. Total training at Army Cadet College is 3 + 1 years. This means that the first three years of training are to be spent at the Army Cadet College and the next year at the Indian Military Academy. The Army Cadet College operates similarly to the NDA, both feeding at the IMA. Any eligible serving soldier can join Army Cadet College by approving written test and then SSB interview.

Eligibility:

Candidates to get admission in Army Cadet College:

  • Should be a citizen of India.
  • Must be serving soldiers in the Army, Navy or Airforce.
  • Must be between 19 and 24 years of age.
  • Must be single

before you must join the forces as a soldier.

Any interested soldier can contact their education department or reporting officer about this. The soldiers are then shortlisted and shortlisted for SSB after a written test. Here are the steps of the selection process:
1.Written Examination: The written examination consists of four papers, each paper having 300 marks and a duration of 3 hours. The papers range from general mental ability, general awareness of English. There are four papers:
  • Paper 1 - General Mental Ability Test (GMAT)
  • Paper 2 - Current and General Awareness Test (CGAT)
  • Paper 3 - Interactive Communicative English (ICE)
  • Paper 4 - Educational Materials Test (ACT)
All papers, except Paper 3 of Interactive Communicative English (ICE), are objective type, which will be partially descriptive.
2.SSB Interview: Candidates who pass the written test are called for SSB interview. It is a five-day examination conducted in two stages. Successful Stage I candidates are held for four days. Stage I consists of oral and non-verbal reasoning questions and PP and DT tests. Stage II consists of psychological tests, group tests, personal interviews, and board conferences.
3.Medical: Candidates clarifying SSB interviews for medical fitness are examined based on the medical criteria decided by the Recruitment Board. This is not a test, but a measure to check fitness criteria.
4.Merit list: The final merit list is prepared by the candidates based on their written test and marks obtained in SSB. Then joining instructions are issued to the required number of candidates based on the number of vacancies and the marks obtained by the candidates.
Therefore any serving personnel can join the Army Cadet College in the above manner.
